Mount Buffalo National Park

Mount Buffalo is the great granite plateau that watches over the valley. Twenty minutes from the park, it is one of the most rewarding day trips in the region.

What to see

• The Gorge and the Chalet lookouts, vast granite drop-offs and views.
• Ladies Bath Falls, an easy, pretty waterfall walk.
• Granite walking tracks for all abilities.
• Rock climbing and abseiling for the adventurous; snow play in winter.

Local tip: Pack layers, it is noticeably cooler up on the plateau than down in Bright, in any season.
