Getting here from Melbourne or beyond

From Melbourne, jump on the Hume, peel off at Wangaratta, then follow the Great Alpine Road straight into Bright. It's one of the prettiest drives in the state. Vineyards, then hills, then proper mountains. From Sydney it's a longer haul, closer to seven hours, but the run through the high country is worth it. Once you hit Bright township we're a couple of minutes from the main shops. You'll spot the Murray to Mountains rail trail nearby, and Bright Brewery is a short stroll if you fancy a cold one after the drive.
