Mount Buffalo rises straight out of the Ovens Valley to a 1,723 m granite plateau covered in snow gums, alpine herbfields and tors. It's Victoria's oldest national park, gazetted in 1898, and one of the easiest alpine experiences in the state, you can drive almost to the summit.

• The Cathedral and the Horn, short walks to spectacular granite outcrops with valley views.
• Lake Catani, alpine lake for swimming (summer), a 4 km loop walk, kayak hire in season.
• The Gorge, historic Chalet ruins and the famous granite cliff, popular with hang gliders.
• Eurobin Falls, gentle 25-minute return walk, beautiful in autumn.
The road is paved but winding, allow 45 minutes from the park gate to the summit area.
